Who We Are
Founded in 1978, Vietnam Veterans of America is the only national Vietnam veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA is organized as a not-for-profit corporation and is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Service Code

GOALS
VVA's goals are to promote and support the full range of issues important to Vietnam veterans, to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans.

The members of VVA Chapter 480 meet on the first Wednesday evening of the month at 7:00 pm at 207 Main Street, Owego NY. The VFW building. (across from the movie theater) Maybe you are a Vietnam Veteran who would like to join our organization. We also have applications for associate membership for those who want to assist the Vietnam Vets. Stop in and check us out. We would like to meet you and welcome you into our group. Our organization donates to our local food pantries, supports many of our local youth activities such as the Annual Children Picnic at Marvin Park, Rudins Halloween event, the Boys and Girls club and more. The biggest event we hold is our Annual Catfish Derby held at Hickories Park in Owego, NY on the first weekend in June.
